Joining & Rostering
Joining AAU and forming a team is fairly easy:
- An adult (coach or manager) joins AAU online as a non-athlete member and selects theExtended Benefits option ($18). Please remember to select Hockey (HO) as your primary sport and Youth as the program.
- That same member then creates an AAU Club also online ($30 for a Level 1 club). Most teams use their team name such as (City name)08 as their name (although club names and team names can be different). However, some clubs do have multiple teams (such as an 09, 08 & 07) and in such a case the club could be something like the(City Name)Hockey Club.
- Once you have completed your club membership then you'll receive a Club Number (usually 7 characters, alpha-numeric). This club number should be given to all other coaches and players for use when they register.
- Please ask all members to select the Extended Benefits (meaning $18 for an adult and $16for a youth athlete) and that they input the correct Club Number during their registration.
- The Club Representative (the person that creates the team) can log in as the Club rep to view and/or print the Club Membership list.
- FYI only teams members may participate on the ice and/or player's bench. All coaches, trainers, instructors must be AAU members prior to their participation (keep in mind that AAU performs a background check on all adult who are to have contact with youth athletes, which is why no non-members may participate). Again, non-members are not permitted on the ice, on the player's bench or in the penalty box.
For practice and scrimmage purposes, a formal roster isn't required (you are eligible to participate as soon as you are AAU members). If you need a formal Roster please contact Lee Shifflett for assistance.
